198 patients of those 77 percent that were adherent 99.4 reversed their heart disease esselstyn's study was released in July of 2014 I will leave a link to that study as well again both of these studies showed a high carb low fat low protein plant-based diet halted and reversed heart disease now Exhibit B let's look at a standard American diet this is typically high in fat moderate protein and moderate and carbohydrates with lots of refined carbohydrates this did increase insulin levels anytime you have high carbohydrate consumption with high fat consumption you are going to have insulin issues because fat blocks the insulin from doing its job in the cells you also saw increased total cholesterol increased triglycerides increased oxidized LDL and as you can see increase arterial plaque which leads to heart attacks right and finally Exhibit C the beloved diet which is the craze right now a high-fat high-protein low-carb diet with large amounts of animal products you don't see a change in insulin that's because you need both carbohydrates and fat to cause insulin issues because the fats going to block the carbs from doing
